I believe I have inside of me
Everything that I need to live a bountiful life
With all the love alive in me
I’ll stand as tall as the tallest tree
And I’m thankful for each day that I’m given
Both the easy and the hard ones I’m (Liv)in’

About

                      img_2558-e1510940007651.jpgimg_3167.jpg

My name is Olivia Ngozi Ajiake and I study Social Work, Women’s and Gender Studies, and Social Justice as an undergrad at Rutgers University. Though a native of California, I have spent the last couple of years learning from other communities that greatly enriched my college experience. Whether it’s tutoring youth in New Brunswick, NJ on the weekdays or coordinating spoken word at Ethnos Church on the weekends, I am passionate about empowering others through creativity.

Close to my heart is Rutgers’ chapter of Black Campus Ministry that I cofounded and lead as part of InterVarsity Christian Fellowship. During school breaks, you can find me participating in the New York City Urban Project. My vision is to continue to be involved in ministry, capture untold stories, and start my own nonprofit.

I am a sister to four, daughter to two, granddaughter to a few, a niece, and friend to many.

This website acts as a skeleton for the book I intend to write called The Light(skin). As a snapshot to a much bigger story, I believe these posts can add to ongoing conversations about race, identity, faith, justice, and more.

As much of this is transitory, meaning that it changes with the season, walk with me as even the weather isn’t constant from coast to coast, cultures shift, conflicts arise between friends, and personal transformation is inevitable.

Let’s learn, grow, and glow 🙂

The Outline

I love when a book speaks to my soul. If I can achieve those ‘aha’ moments reflecting on someone else’s words, why not write a little something for myself and …maybe others? I’ve been working on a book for some time now and I want to be accountable if it’s what I’m being called to do. I will be bold, vulnerable, and transparent. Praying for clarity and creativity to flow as I encounter Jesus.

This section is under construction. Vision & Goals coming soon.
